Cascade Moot 2024 Registration

Signum University and the Mythgard Institute invite you to join us on Saturday, August 31, 2024, for Cascade Moot 2024. This hybrid event will occur in Maple Hall at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. For our second journey to the Pacific Northwest, our theme is "From the Fringe: The Importance of Secondary and Tertiary Characters".

The Lord of the Rings has many secondary and tertiary characters, from the "Thinking Fox" to Bergil and Beregond. How do secondary, tertiary, and other fringe characters provide insight into the nature of the primary characters, the progression of the plot, or the overall world in which the characters exist? We invite you to share with us your favorite secondary and tertiary characters from Tolkien and all of speculative fiction and how they enrich their respective stories.
