Mountain Moot 2026 Registration

Signum University invites you to join us on Saturday, 9 May for Mountain Moot 2026. This hybrid event will take place at the Drury Inn & Suites Denver Near the Tech Center in Denver, CO, USA. Join us amidst the rugged beauty of Colorado to debate and discuss “The Roads Not Travelled: 'What If?' in Middle-earth.”

The great tales of Middle-earth feel as immutable as the mountains, but like any great story, they are built upon a foundation of pivotal choices and chance encounters. What if that foundation shifted? At Mountain Moot, we invite you to join a collective thought experiment to re-imagine the history of Arda.

We will venture into the realm of counter-factuals, exploring compelling scenarios submitted by you, the attendees. What if Gollum’s last flicker of conscience had prevailed at the Cracks of Doom? What if the Sons of Denethor had stood together in Rivendell? And what of the age-old debate: did Balrog wings bear the weight of flame and shadow? **Note - balrogs did not have wings.**

At the start of Mountain Moot, we will collect your "What If?" scenarios. During the Moot, we will draw these ideas at random and open the floor for a moderated, friendly, and deeply insightful discussion. Together, we will trace the ripples of each change, exploring the profound consequences for characters, kingdoms, and the very fate of the Ring.

Bring your curiosity, your knowledge of the legendarium, and your most intriguing questions. Let us gather and explore the unwritten tales, the forking paths, and the endless possibilities hidden within the pages of the legendarium.
