Ranger Moot 2026 Registration

September 11–13, 2026 • Loveland, OH, USA
Signum University invites you to join us from 11-13 September for Ranger Moot 2026. This unique, outdoor, hybrid event will take place at Camp Friedlander in Loveland, OH. For our return to camp, we ask that you bring your love of Tolkien and the Great Outdoors and walk with us as we take "The Hidden Way: Paths, Journeys, and the Road Less Traveled".

From the Shire to Mordor, from the hidden passes of the Misty Mountains to the sunless ways beneath the Ephel Dúath, J.R.R. Tolkien’s legendarium is a geography of thresholds. His characters are almost always en route — walking, riding, paddling, stumbling, or deliberately choosing one fork over another. Yet Tolkien’s roads are never mere connectors. They are tests of will, theaters of chance, and mirrors of the soul. The path not taken haunts the narrative as much as the one that is trod.

For Ranger Moot 2026, we invite you to take the journey and walk with us. Come explore the literary, philosophical, and spiritual dimensions of journeying in Middle‑earth and beyond. What does it mean to take a path, hidden or otherwise, one that may be well-trod, secret, forbidden, forgotten, or simply unmarked? How do Tolkien’s characters navigate physical, moral, and psychological landscapes where the right way is not obvious? And how do these journeys speak to our own lives, our own decisions, and our own wild places?

Lodging is available at Camp Friedlander through camp cabins or camping tent sites. Camp cabins sleep up to four people and cost $30 USD for your entire Ranger Moot stay. Camping tent sites cost $20 USD for your full stay. After registering here, a lodging link will be emailed to you, allowing you to sign up for the lodging of your choice.
