November 2024  Candidate  Standard Module
Mixed Lecture/Discussion • Low intensity
In this module we will explore some of the most important Russian fairy tales, their archetypal characters, and beautiful imagery. We will travel magical lands and meet incredible characters, even a talking pancake, and a flying wooden eagle! We will relate these tales with stories from the Grimm brothers, Hans Christian Andersen, and the unforgettable Arabian Nights.

  • Session 4: Fables and Everyday Stories
  • Session 5: Stories of Brave Heroes – Part 1
  • Session 6: Stories of Brave Heroes – Part 2
  • Session 7: Journeys and Marvels
  • Session 8: On Pushkin’s Fairy Tales

Required Texts

Students need the book Russian Fairy Tales.

This is a candidate for November 2024 which means it will only run if there is enough interest. Token holders can vote on candidate modules.
