Starsha Kolodziej

Prospective SPACE Preceptor

Biologist, beekeeper, blueberry farmer, and fangirl of Tolkien and The Tolkien Professor

Starsha Kolodziej, owner of Eldariel’s HiveWorks, has been learning about honey bees since 2011 when she attended Seacoast Beekeepers’ Association bee school. Her modest apiary is located next to her mother's no-spray blueberry farm in Salem, NH, and she also keeps a couple colonies in Laconia, NH. She has been an important feature of the New Hampshire Beekeepers’ Association executive board for several years as President, Vice President, and currently Merchandise Chair. Starsha attended Generative Bee School Queen Rearing Series in 2022 as well as the 2022 Eastern Apicultural Society’s Conference in Ithaca, NY. She often assists others in mentoring and tending their bees.

After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University in 2011 with a BS in Biological Sciences, Starsha worked at Massachusetts General Hospital, MIT’s Koch Institute, Synlogic, and is currently employed at Tiba Biotech in Woburn, MA. She first encountered The Tolkien Professor, Signum University, and Mythmoot III back in 2015 and has enthusiastically attended every Mythmoot since. She received Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts ESOL Tutor Training in October 2021 at Nevins Library in Methuen, MA. She avidly pursues personal development and consumes audiobooks. Starsha studied abroad in spring 2010 in Seville, Spain, explored Lofoten, Norway in 2018 with her siblings, discovered her love of snorkeling in Hawaii in 2022, and attended a colleague’s wedding in India in 2024 (where by chance she found Apis dorsata, the giant Asian honey bee, at the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort, if chance you call it). She currently resides in her hometown with her two cats, Princess Sadie and King Charles.
