Dr. Shelley Williams

Professor of medieval literature and enchanted things

Dr. Williams recently graduated with her doctorate from the University of Oxford, studying medieval English with an emphasis on the works of Geoffrey Chaucer. Her scholarly interests include Old and Middle English poetry, the history of science, and medieval material culture. She has published several articles in recent years on varied topics, but they tend to touch on similar themes related to medieval art, texts and folklore. Her current research projects involve publishing her dissertation with the Monograph Series of the Oxford University Press as a book, and ongoing work on the life of Agnes Randolph ('Black Agnes') and the Siege of Dunbar Castle of 1338.
